What is Pink Salon?

As is explained in the main page, there are currently increasing number of “none-store-type” businesses although this research is only targeting the “store-typed” industries. Yet, pink salon only offer the “store-typed” business since they are the “restaurants and bars” as tatemae. Thus, the customers essentially have to order some drinks in the salon. Although it is said “restaurants and bars” as tatemae, the service contents are same as the other industries. The characteristic of pink salon is that there are not allowed to have private rooms. The spaces are dark and divided with partitions and decorations, and there are usually loud music on. Since there are no personal rooms for each customers, the price range are relatively low compared to other types of businesses.

Where is Pink Salon?

There were only four pink salon observed in Kabuki-cho. The location were various but all of them were relatively in narrow street or at the inner part of the building where it was relatively difficult to find.
